What is Beloc ZOK and when is it used?
Beloc ZOK contains metoprolol as an active substance. Metoprolol belongs to the group of beta-blockers and is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), for the long-term treatment of angina pectoris (heart failure), chronic heart failure (chronic heart failure), cardiac arrhythmias and cardiovascular diseases with heart palpitations. It can also be used to prevent migraines.
Thanks to a special formulation with controlled release of active ingredients, the effect of Beloc ZOK sustained release tablets usually lasts 24 hours.
Beloc ZOK can be taken only by prescription and under the constant supervision of a physician.
When should you not use Beloc ZOK?
Beloc ZOK should not be used if it is known that you are hypersensitive to the active substance metoprolol, one of the excipients, or to other drugs from the beta-blocker group.

When should you be careful when taking Beloc ZOK?
This medicine may affect your ability to respond, use tools and machines, and your ability to drive.
An anesthetist should be informed about the use of Beloc ZOK before surgery.
A number of other medicines (including nasal and eye drops) and alcohol can affect the performance of Beloc ZOK if taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:
suffer from other diseases, have allergies or take other medications (including those that you bought yourself!)!
Can Beloc ZOK be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if you are breast-feeding, Beloc ZOK should be taken only after consulting a doctor.
Beloc ZOK, a beta blocker, can harm the fetus or cause premature birth.
How do you use Beloc ZOK?
Beloc ZOK extended-release tablets are taken with a glass of water once a day. It can be taken with or without food. Beloc ZOK Sustained-Release Tablets have a tear groove and can be easily separated. However, they must not be chewed or crushed.
The doctor will determine the right dosage for you based on regular examinations. Typically, the following dosage recommendations apply:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
If you have mild or moderate high blood pressure, take 1 tablet of prolonged action Beloc ZOK 50 once a day. The dose can be increased by the doctor to 1 tablet of prolonged action Beloc ZOK 100 or Beloc ZOK 200. If necessary, the doctor will prescribe another medicine for high blood pressure.
Children and adolescents (6 - 16 years old)
For children from 6 years, the dosage depends on body weight. Your doctor will determine the correct dosage for your child and check it regularly.
The use of Beloc ZOK in children under 6 years of age is not recommended.
Angina pectoris
For angina pectoris, take 1 sustained release tablet of Beloc ZOK 100 or Beloc ZOK 200 once a day. If necessary, the dose can be further increased by the doctor.
Chronic heart failure (chronic heart failure)
In chronic heart failure, as a start of therapy: Beloc ZOK 25 mg once daily for 2 weeks.
In severe heart failure, there may be a doctor or doctor for treatment who started a deeper dose of 1 mg twice a day, prescribe 12.5 (1/2 release of Beloc ZOK 25 mg tablet). Then the dose can be doubled every second week, to 200 mg Beloc ZOK once a day.
